Hungarian
Mangalitsa

In 1833 the Hungarian royal family received a gift from a Serbian prince of 2 boars and 10 sows of a curly-bristled lard breed. Hungarians bred some of their own breeds with this new fattier breed and created the Blonde Hungarian Mangalitsa.

Royal Mangalitsa Meat

This very fatty “curly haired pig” was originally reserved for Habsburg royalty. However, Mangalitsa was so popular because of its exceptional fat that it became the main breed in Europe by the end of the 19th Century. The Blonde Mangalitsa became virtually the only pig breed of the Austro-Hungarian empire because of their exceptional lard.

Corn-Free Soy-Free
Non-GMO Diet

We order a special blend of non-gmo grains such as peanuts, milo, barley and sunflower.  Our pigs a slower finishing breed and the quality of fat of our pigs must be carefully maintained. Feed made of corn or soy will cause our pigs to balloon up into fatty messes.

Farrowed On Pasture

We give our mama pigs a natural environment to have their babies. Free from distraction and disturbance. It allows mama to do her business as well as the piglets get acclimated to their environment and grow strong and healthy.
